Lake Molveno
Thanks to its beauty Lake Molveno was defined by the Italian poet Fogazzaro 'a precious pearl in an even more precious casket' . For years it has been awarded by Legambiente - the main Italian environmental organization - the CINQUE VELE (5 sails), i.e. the highest national recognition for environmental quality, services, protection and commitment to the conservation of lakes.
Lake Molveno has since long become a popular destination among water sports and mountain hiking enthusiasts, as it boasts a fully equipped free beach that is also one of the most beautiful in Trentino and throughout the Alps, as well as a large network of trails and paths that start locally and take hikers up in the Brenta Dolomites.
Lake Molveno is also a traditional charming destination thanks to the complete tour of the lake: a rather flat walk of 10 km that can be completed in a couple of hours.

Molveno's equipped front beach – or lido - really is an Alpine beach, with ten acres of green meadows on the shores of the lake, and within walking distance from the town centre.
The green lawn beach provides a soft turf to lie down and relax; the shade comes from trees of different size scattered on the grass, while playgrounds, sandboxes, a beach volleyball, basketball fields, the miniature golf, tennis courts and bowling are also great fun for families and sports people.
You can also rent mountain bikes, surf boards, and canoes, as well as go to the swimming centre next to the lido, that is equipped with an outdoor Olympic-size swimming-pool, a children's pool with water slides, and additional lawns for relaxation and games.
